Distilled Spirits Council Hosts Booth at Duty Free Show of the Americas

Orlando, FL – The Distilled Spirits Council said today it is hosting an export promotion at the Duty Free Show of the Americas in Orlando on March 10-12, featuring dozens of American spirits products from 21 distillers. The project is designed to showcase the products for buyers from over 70 countries who attend the show and convention.

New York City – American distilled spirits exports broke new records in 2013 crossing the $1.5 billion threshold, driven by premium Bourbon and Tennessee Whiskey which exceeded the $1 billion mark for the first time, the Distilled Spirits Council (DISCUS) reported today at its annual briefing for Wall Street analysts.

U.S. Distilled Spirits Council Hosts Promotions in Growing Brazil Market

Washington, D.C. – The Distilled Spirits Council of the United States (DISCUS) today announced plans for two upcoming American spirits promotions in Brazil, which is an expanding export market for U.S. distilled spirits producers. The seminars and tastings in São Paulo and Rio de Janeiro will be led by Jeff Arnett, Master Distiller of Jack Daniel’s Tennessee Whiskey, who will discuss the history and unique production process of Bourbon and Tennessee Whiskey.

Canadian Consulate, Distilled Spirits Council & Spirits Canada Toast Canadian Whiskies

WASHINGTON, DC – Canadian Ambassador to the U.S. Gary Doer and Canadian Consul-General John Prato hosted a Celebration of Canadian Whiskies with the Distilled Spirits Council and Spirits Canada at the Canadian Consulate in New York on Nov. 19. The VIP tasting event featured more than 15 high-end whiskies, a selection of signature cocktails created by famed New York mixologist Jim Meehan, and Canadian-inspired fare from Mile End Sandwich. More than 100 guests were in attendance.

WASHINGTON, DC – The Distilled Spirits Council said today Brazil has officially recognized Bourbon and Tennessee Whiskey as distinctive products of the United States. This action by Brazil follows the U.S. announcement of the recognition of Cachaça as a distinctive product of Brazil last month.
