    Distilled Spirits Council of The U.S. To Host American Spirits Promotions in China, Russia and Czech Republic; Indian Media will visit the American Whiskey Trail


    WASHINGTON, D.C. – The Distilled Spirits Council of the United States (Distilled Spirits Council) will host American Spirits seminars and tastings of super premium American whiskeys and other American spirits for importers, restaurant and nightclub owners, managers, bartenders, spirits buyers and media in China, Russia and the Czech Republic later this year. In addition, a delegation of journalists from India and other countries will visit the American Whiskey Trail. The events, which will celebrate the taste, style and sophistication of American distilled spirits, are summarized below. These activities are being undertaken in connection with the Council’s participation in the U.S. Department of Agriculture’s Market Access Program (MAP).


    CHINA

    The Distilled Spirits Council will organize an American Spirits Seminar in Shanghai and will host an American Whiskey Master Class and American Spirits Cocktail station during the Whisky Live Spirits Show May 21 & 22, 2010. The Council will also host an American Spirits Seminar in Tianjin on May 25, 2010.



    RUSSIA / CZECH REPUBLIC

    The Council will organize American Spirits Seminars in St. Petersburg on July 13 and in Prague on July 15, 2010. Bill Samuels, Jr., President of Maker’s Mark, will present the American Whiskey history and tasting portion of both seminars.



    AMERICAN WHISKEY TRAIL TOUR

    The Council will host a delegation of media from India, and possibly other countries, for a tour of the American Whiskey Trail the week of September 19, 2010.
