DISTILLED SPIRITS COUNCIL HIRES ALPINE GROUP

April 25, 2004 08:00 PM
WASHINGTON – The Distilled Spirits Council of the United States (DISCUS) has retained the Alpine Group, a well-respected bipartisan lobbying firm in Washington, DC, to help broaden the Council’s representation on Capitol Hill. “We are very excited about this new alliance,” said Mark Gorman, DISCUS Senior Vice President for Government Relations. “DISCUS members are very impressed with the Alpine Group and the experience its partners and associates bring to the table. They will help broaden our coverage on the Hill and enhance our relationships with federal agencies that regulate various aspects of the beverage alcohol industry.” Established in 1995, the Alpine Group, Inc. is a mid-sized consulting firm specializing in tax, trade, agricultural, environmental, energy and several other issues. The Alpine Group’s chief partners – James D. Massie, Greg Means, Rhod Shaw and Richard C. White – have more than 80 years of combined experience, which Gorman said will complement the operations of DISCUS’ Federal Government Relations staff. DISCUS is the trade association representing producers and marketers of distilled spirits sold in the United States.
