BEN JENKINS NAMED DISTILLED SPIRITS COUNCIL'S COMMUNICATIONS DIRECTOR

Washington, DC − The Distilled Spirits Council of the United States (DISCUS) today announced the appointment of Ben Jenkins as the organization’s new communications director. In this role, Jenkins will be responsible for providing public affairs, communications and media relations support for the organization’s state, federal and international public policy and responsibility initiatives. “Ben’s past public affairs experience with the Republican Governors Association will be of great value to our organization as we work in the states to communicate messages about our industry,” said DISCUS President Peter Cressy. Jenkins most recently served as press secretary for the Republican Governors Association (RGA) in Washington, D.C. In that capacity, Jenkins acted as the chief communications liaison between the RGA and the national and local media. During Jenkins’ four-year tenure at the RGA, he worked with more than 45 different Governors, and saw action in more than 50 gubernatorial elections. A graduate of the College of William and Mary in Virginia, Jenkins currently resides in Arlington, VA.
