Ana Jovancicevic Named New York Director Of Public Relations For Distilled Spirits Council

WASHINGTON, D.C - The Distilled Spirits Council announced today the appointment of Ana Jovancicevic as its New York Director of Public Relations.

In this position, Jovancicevic will help oversee the Council’s public relations campaign promoting the heritage, culture and style of distilled spirits. The campaign, now in its seventh year, generates media interest in the rich heritage of the spirits industry and new spirits trends through distillery tours, spirits category events and media relations.

"Ana’s expertise and network in the food and drink industry will create new media opportunities for the Distilled Spirits Council and its members in New York and beyond," said Frank Coleman, Distilled Spirits Council Senior Vice President for Public Affairs and Communications.

Ana comes to the Distilled Spirits Council with over seven years of food and spirits public relations and marketing experience.

As an independent public relations consultant, Ana has executed strategic marketing campaigns for spirits companies, restaurants, food personalities and food products. She has worked with the Hennessy Cognac Prestige Portfolio, Trapiche, the largest wine producer from Argentina and the NYC-based sake importer, Joto Sake. Ana also served as the Vice President of Evins Communications, Ltd. where she headed the Food, Wine and Spirits division. At Evins, Ana implemented publicity and marketing plans for a variety of spirit brands including Maker’s Mark, Laphroaig, Jean-Mark X.O Vodka and Rhum Clement.

Ana began her career in the industry as the Founder, CFO and President of, a business-to-business software company for independent restaurants and their suppliers. It was in this venture that Ana developed her skills as a savvy food professional as well as becoming adept at marketing and business strategy.

Ana grew up in Serbia and Paris and holds a BA in Economics and Italian Studies from Wellesley College. She is fluent in French, Italian and Serbian. She is a member of Women, Chefs and Restaurateurs and has been a featured presenter/speaker for the organization. She is also a member of Slow Food USA.
