20 Regional Colleges/Universities Gather in Connecticut to Develop Alcohol Abuse Plans at Regional Conference

Twenty colleges and universities from Connecticut, Maine, New Hampshire, Rhode Island and Massachusetts will meet in Mystic, CT, Nov 2-4 for the “American Campus and Alcohol Regional Conference,” a three-day meeting on combatting alcohol abuse on college campuses. WHAT: A regional college alcohol abuse conference, being convened by Eastern Connecticut State University, University of Hartford and the Distilled Spirits Council, which will bring together university administrators, faculty, students, beverage alcohol industry representatives, law enforcement, and local leaders from each community to develop plans to fight campus alcohol abuse. WHO: Schools participating in the conference are: Eastern Connecticut State University, University of Hartford, University of Connecticut, Quinebaug Community College, Albertus Magnus College, Sacred Heart University, Connecticut College, Southern Connecticut State University, U.S. Coast Guard Academy, Mitchell College, Western Connecticut College, Colby College (ME), Keen State College (NH), Rhode Island College (RI), UMASS, Dartmouth (MA), Tufts University (MA), Assumption College (MA), Curry College (MA), Dean College (MA), and Westfield State College (MA). Participating state and law enforcement agencies and organizations include the Governor’s Prevention Partnership, the Connecticut Coalition to Stop Underage Drinking and the New London Police Department.
